Some interesting stats from the Prince George SPCA's newsletter

Some interesting stats from the Prince George SPCA's newsletter:

In October and November:

762 animals were taken in (these would be almost entirely cats and dogs)

343 were claimed, transferred to another SPCA, or sold

419 lives unaccounted for

From the same newsletter: The shelter could definately (sic) use cleaning supplies.

Let's connect some dots: The Prince George SPCA begs for cleaning supplies. It is infamous for disease outbreaks. It is infamous for killing animals that its diseased facility makes sick. One ex-SPCA Director called the Prince George SPCA "a slaughterhouse". It is infamous for killing dogs and cats for space (it has a paid contract with the City of Prince George to impound stray dogs).

Unless there were very few animals in the Prince George SPCA's cells and cages at the beginning of October and very many at the end of November, there are 419 lives unaccounted for. Are the 419 lives unaccounted for because they are dead?

If they are dead, that is a 55% death rate.

SPCA P.R. person, Lorie Chortyk said that the SPCA only kills 1% of animals. CEO Craig Daniell claims to have one of the lowest kill rates in North America.

Oh?
