The winner of Animal Advocates' Christmas Raffle is Faye Aubut of North Vancouver.

We were so pleased when Faye's name was drawn as we have known and admired Faye for many years. We got to know her about fifteen years ago when she adopted our cat Missy. Missy had had half her face damaged by a firecracker and the person who rescued her from the people who did this to her didn't want to take Missy to the SPCA after they said they would kill Missy.

Instead, Missy's rescuer asked AAS for help which we gave to both her and Missy of course. Missy went to our vet who made it clear that her injuries could not be fixed, but she could be perfectly happy the way she was.

When Faye saw Missy's photo in our North Shore News ad, she phoned instantly. Faye has a big heart, and Missy's special needs especially touched her because Faye has M.S. and has special needs herself. It was an instant match and Missy lived the remainder of her life with Faye.

Many, many thanks to Alexandra Stolte who donated all the wonderful things in the basket, arranged them so beautifully, and handled the ticket sales so professionally. And thank-you everyone who bought tickets.
