I am reminded of the "foster Mom" home check and interview Jennifer Dickson of Okanagan Animal Welfare Foundation put me through

Your story is a priceless "keeper". I am reminded of the "foster Mom" home check and interview Jennifer Dickson of Okanagan Animal Welfare Foundation put me through a few years ago. She told me later about this incident which was an important deciding factor for her as far as accepting my application or rejecting it...

There was a pile of "clean" laundry somewhere in the house and Ben, the dog, who was still with me then, being his usual high strung, overactive self, joined by perhaps another one of my furkids, landed on and rearranged that pile of laundry more than once, which I, intensely concentrating on my "interview", barely noticed.

I don't know if Jen's question was due to curiosity or shock but she did inquire if the laundry was clean or on it's way to the clothes washer. When I calmly replied that it was clean and appeared unconcerned, Jen knew this was a foster home she needed and wanted.

I am and will be forever grateful for her decision. I found a place where I belonged and have followed the road on my journey with a number of twists and turns as well as detours - and I have...thanks to Jen and my pile of clean laundry, which just happened to be in the right place at the right time - according to how I see it!
