What Times Are These When an American Politician Shows More Compassion Than the BCSPCA?

What times are these when a politician outshines the BCSPCA in his fight to end animal suffering?

Reading Antonio Villaraigosa's criticism of the city of Los Angeles's approach to animal control is like listeneing to the same broken record that plays over and over in my brain every day as I walk through life saving animals FROM the BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Reading Villaraigosa gives me hope. After all, if a politician gets it, and has the integrity to be unselfish and brave, then perhaps one day, someone at the top of our province's largest and most powerful animal welfare organization might do the same? My God, I hope so.

I hope everyone reads Villaraigosa's piece from beginning to end. It echos everything that AAS has asked of the BC SPCA over and over and over. We have pointed it all out, both publicly and privately to the BC SPCA, until we are practically blue in the face. And where has it gotten us? Attacked by the SPCA's expensive lawyers for the third time. While animals still suffer and are killed at the hands of the BC SPCA.

Shame on you BC SPCA. Politicians have more soul than you.
