If one perceives Animal Advocates as being an enemy of the SPCA, it is dependent on ones definition of being a friend or an enemy.
If we define friends as being a bunch of sycophantic snivellers (frequently known as toadies), who are incapable of independent thought apart from uttering the word “Amen”, then I guess that you are not a friend of the SPCA, Judy.
If we define a friend as a person who is working for ongoing improvements in the way we treat our animals, I could argue that you are the SPCA’s best friend. You give them lots of time, research the issues of concern from an animal-oriented perspective, have literate contributors, and you’re trying to make the group more accountable to their members. You don't charge them for all this work. That’s a real act of friendship!
To perceive who ones real enemies and real friends are is an extremely difficult job. Disagreements do not preclude being able to work together, but I think it would preclude the counter-productive waste of money (for both sides) involved with the process of suing, which to me is like stealing money intended for the animals.
