Starting Sept 1st, it will be unlawful to pick up your dog's poop and put it in the garbage. Now, you must take it home and flush it down the toilet, or face strict fines if you're caught doing it the old way. Officials have hired a group of "uniformed educators/enforcers" to look after this. Also, no dogs are allowed to swim in any body of water in Ottawa, due to the possible destruction of shore banks.
I'm glad we don't live in Ottawa!
