If the B.C. SPCA does indeed monitor this site, I hope a full investigation is launched into this incident and action is taken to:
1) ensure this does not happen again
2) train or re-train staff on after-hours call protocol
3) confirm the facts of this incident and terminate the SPCA staff member who was involved.
As far as public relations goes, no matter how much time, energy and money the B.C. SPCA invests in promoting warm and fuzzy animal stories, it will never erase the image I have of this poor suffering animal.
