Animal Advocates speaks to grade 9 students

Today, on behalf of Animal Advocates, I spoke to a class of grade 9 students today in Vancouver regarding puppy mills, backyard breeders and chained dogs. Students learned how dangerous it is to tie dogs and leave them like that for 24/7, and the horrible abuse mother dogs endure producing puppies for pet stores, and otherwise sold in newspaper ads. They watched disturbing pictures and videos of dogs, many of which AAS has helped when the SPCA didn't. The students kept asking, 'is this legal?' And they could not believe it was. Let's hope that this education will help to stop the buying of puppy mill dogs.
