Animal Advocates Watchdog

Just how many ways can it be counted that the SPCA would be better off spending their money on animals rather than lawyers?

I think it is beyond obvious AAS does not want to destroy the SPCA. AAS is a tiny, tiny organization bombared with calls and emails from the public to 'do something' for a chained, neglected dog that the SPCA won't help. ALL that AAS and its supporters want is for the spca to do SOMETHING about neglected, discarded and unwanted dogs.

I understand...I've been there from volunteering at the pound and SPCA...watching dog after dog come in. Often neglected as the dog was forced to live his or her existence outside, or on a chain. These dogs need rehabilitation that no one wants to put the time into. When the public goes to adopt a dog, they want 'Lassie'.

I speak for myself, but I think what AAS wants is for the SPCA to do some real animal welfare. To advocate for a ban on tethering and otherwise chaining dogs. To do some real education and have an absolute zero tolerance for leaving dogs outside. To advocate to mayors and councillors to put in place a breeding by-law so that less dogs are out there that no one wants. Heck, perhaps the SPCA could go the media and ask for a letter writing campaign for breeding by-laws and anti-tethering laws.

Why is it that AAS gets sued when all they want is for some 'real' animal welfare to go on? AAS is incredibly small and can not afford all these lawyer's bills. I know AAS would rather be spending money on the dogs that the SPCA would not help.

And just how many ways can it be counted that the SPCA would be better off spending their money on animals rather than lawyers?
