A two year old girl was attacked and killed by a Pitt Bull in Iowa (today or yesterday). The dog was kept inside a pen, and chained too! It seems the little girl opened the door to pat the dog, which she'd done other times, and the dog killed her. Is this a Pitt Bull problem, a chaining/isolation problem or a combination of the two? I must admit that although I LOVE all dogs, I am totally terrified of Pitt Bulls and avoid off leash areas when they're around. I even yell to Pitt owners to please leash their dog until I pass, I am so afraid of my dog or son being hurt.I can't explain it, but they get this "look" in their eyes when they see my dog approaching, almost like a cat that is ready to pounce on a mouse. It is very un-nerving and I wish I could get over it............
