A blessing in disguise

A dead baby giraffe at the Greater Vancouver Zoo might be a blessing in disguise.
At least it is for the animal who is doomed to be gawked at by mindless people with nothing better to do than amuse themselves with cheap, carnival-style entertainment.
Putting money in the pockets of animal mongers is shameful. Why not invest some of your time and money into preventing the abuse of animals?
Why not teach your children compassion regarding animals by volunteering with animal-rescue groups?
Only by avoiding places like the Greater Vancouver Zoo can we hope to prevent further tragedies.
