the spca but sometimes it is difficult to tell the sex of a cat. I took one to the vet once to confirm that it was a female (it was supposed to be a male - when the original person bought it from a long time breeder) and the vet took some time before making a strong enough decision to tell me it was female.
I don't think one can knock a person, too hard, if they're unsure
