Cat euthanasia is not acceptable
I am writing in regards to your recent article in your paper entitled "Kittens didn't have to die " by Nella Shmit (The News, Oct. 6)
I totally agree that the treatment of feral cats by the SPCA is totally unacceptable.
Many of us support the SPCA financially and have for many years, believing that they do their very best to save the lives of all animals. We know now that this is not true. If the SPCA has made it their policy to euthanize feral cats they should let this be known through notices in the paper and on their web site.
I am a founding member of Catspan and myself, along with a number of animal-loving people, have for a number of years worked tirelessly to help prevent the suffering of both feral and domestic cats.
