I know aboriginal people who themselves are appalled by the way that their fellow-aboriginals treat animals. And, this appalling treatment is not limited to reserve dogs. These people are never able to speak through the media. It must also be stated that the treatment of animals on reservations parallels the treatment of humans on reservations.
The same situation is rampant in "white" society, in different ways. If a human ignores or abuses an animal, that bespeaks beiing ignored or abused. The media is not usually interested in truth, real truth.
There is no caucasian who is able validly to point a finger without examining his or her personal morality.
