What a beautiful passage from the book, Barbara...and so very, very true. Thank you for posting it. I also loved your story of bringing up the raccoons. I will always remember the day you let me help feed them. I was thrilled to have a little wild creature in my hands, its tiny paws wrapped around my fingers, and listen to it purr as it ate. I had no idea raccoon babies were so vocal. You did a fabulous job with them, all seven of them!! and like a wonderful, responsible Mum, you let them go when it was time. I admire you greatly for the huge amount of time and hard work you put in for those little babies, and for the tremendous love you have for every animal who needs help. It is not just your love, wonderful as it is, that is so valuable, it is also your willingness to get involved and to put in the time, money, and work. You have changed the lives of many animals from misery to happiness, and the world needs more people like you.
