INFORMED IS MISINFORMED

Informed: if you are not union bashing why make the statement that you think the defiance is only occurring at unionized branches?

AAS: Because those branches are the ones that have shown defiance.

Informed: A couple points you should have clarified are; that Eccles is management.

AAS: I just checked with the SPCA amd Mr Eccles is still a union employee.

Informed: the SPCA does not have a pound contract with the City of Vancouver.

AAS: we have certainly never said it does. Actually it can't, as the City of Vancouver has its own pound and dog control. But the SPCA tried for years to talk the City into closing its pound and contracting dog control in Vancouver with the Vancouver SPCA. It only gave up in the last few years. The Vancouver SPCA did have 18 contracts with municipalities in the lower mainland and the Fraser Valley for dog control. We know it has at least two less now that the City of Coquiltam, and the District of North Vancouver have stopped contracting with it.

Informed: If an employee refuses to carry out a lawful safe order he/she is subject to discipline. This is true in any work site union or not. If no action takes place that is the fault of management not a union.

AAS: Well here you are very sadly misinformed. That is the theory, but the reality is very different. That is why unions have grievance committees.

Informed: I think you will make better headway if the rhetoric is toned down a bit.

AAS: We hope we have shown that the 'rhetoric' is simply fact.
