Sternberg is running a business in my opinion

Sternberg is running a business in my opinion. She owns a facility that kills the inhabitants and she still refers to it as a "shelter". In my opinion, that is one of the prime warning flags that shows that a person is capable of stunning dishonesty. Agreed - a life of incarceration is cruelty, but then I would not agree to be one of the incarcerators if it meant I had to kill, and I would not be able to twist my reason into believing that I was not part of the problem just because I object to the problem. Objecting to killing innocent beings but doing it anyway is morally perverted - but easier than finding another job. I would refuse to kill one dog that was unsellable because of being old, scared, depressed, or ugly, and would get out as fast as I could, taking all the doomed dogs with me. But then I would have to find another job wouldn't I?

I think Sternberg is running a high-end pet shuffling business with a nice, homey, state-of-the-art, media attractive "shelter". I suspect she has finessed the business of "heart-rending shelters desperately need your money or dogs will die!" school of pet shuffling, which is the business method that all "shelters" that kill use. Real shelters, that will not kill, are not nearly as financially successful because no one is terribly worried about the animals in them because they are safe. And almost all animal lovers actually believe that killing "shelters" (an oxymoron) have no choice, but just hate to have to kill. Going on camera saying how much you hate to kill attracts a lot of attention. The media eat this up.

Everyone has the choice to refuse to kill, but some people choose to make a nice living at killing, then boo-hoo-hoo'ing about it and saying how much they hate it (poor us).

Two movies about how sad it is that people are killing millions of pets a year are coming to Vancouver, and I would bet that both let the killers off the hook, in fact, I'd be surprised if they didn't canonize the killers making them out to be saintly for killing the dogs that have deteriorated in their facilities to the point no sale . Everyone will feel very moved and maybe a few will go get a dog or cat, but all will make a donation to the killing organizations, and that, in my opinion, is what this is all about.

I'd pay to see a movie made by someone who has infiltrated one of these "shelters", showing the callous inhumanity of many of them behind closed doors. I cannot believe that real animal welfare can ever be realized as long as a sham is so widely believed.

The most that one can hope for from these films is that after seeing them more people will be ready to insist that the killers start spending real money on spay/neuter programs and start lobbying for breeding controls. In the meanwhile it will be all glam and feel good, and then back to work with the needle.
