Sternberg would mark most AAS rescued dogs for death

We just heard from a man who attended one of Sternberg's seminars and he was not fooled by Sternberg's "Poor me, I am the one doing what is best for dogs and for that I get called 'Hitler' by employees" spiel. He was asked to bring a dog that Sternberg could 'demonstrate' on and Sternberg was very negative about the dog, saying the dog was aggressive merely from the way it lay on the floor without moving for strangers. This dog was a recent rescue from a chain, and has since revealed himself to be a sweetheart.

Sternberg expressed disapproval of fostering, saying that the transition to a new home is too disrupting or upsetting. In other words, suffering isolation in one of her cells is less hard on a dog than happiness in a foster home. Sternberg is a slick businesswoman, but she is not bright enough to conceal her dislike of a superior competing system.

Sternberg also said she will put a dog down if it does not make eye contact, if it is not responsive to humans. In other words, she would mark many of AAS's rescues for death.

Very little in life has given me more satisfaction than to see the light come into the eyes of an old dog who has spent his life on a chain and had forgotten long ago that love or fun exists, that a hand could be gentle or life could be good. To see that old dog's head come up at my approach, begging with the other dogs for his pat and ear scratch, to dance around the car door in anticipation of a ride, and to nose-bonk my leg, telling me to hurry up with his supper, really is the reason I do this work. Sternberg was clear that she would kill those dogs.
