Animal Advocates Watchdog

This is the reply we got from the Comox SPCA when we complained about Kona's bio

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We do not endorse chaining up of dogs. We used the wording of the previous owner and did not realize how it sounded. The owner was most concerned to let a new owner know that this dog is an exceptional escape artist and will need proper containment. The point that the previous owner was trying to make was that Kona doesn't bark when restrained.

We'll make a change on our website right away.
I hope this puts your mind to rest.

This is the reply we got from Craig Daniell:

I truly cannot understand why this was written in the first place. If it is meant to be funny, it is absolutely not.
As you can see, I am copying the Comox branch on my response.
To the Comox branch, I expect a full explanation on this immediately. In addition, remove this from your website.
I expect an answer by Tuesday.
Sincerely,

I'm not too sure how they think contained is any different/better then tied up??? How about dealing with the problem by FIXING it - not taking the easiest route for the 'owner'.
If the dog is a great escape artist maybe the suggestions need to be: the poor boy NOT be left outside alone - gets lots of attention and love - doggy daycare would do him great - tons of exercise needed - inside dog only - training needed - - so on and so forth.

He is trying to escape for a reason - fix the reason - tieing him up or containing him in something isn't fixing the problem. Its just adding more problems to this poor boys life.

When will they get it??
