Sometimes I can barely bring myself to read the descriptions of animal abuse that appear on this website.

Yet it always seems that there are just enough stories like this one of the rescue of beautiful Markus, and just enough Happy Endings to give me the courage to keep coming back.

That, along with the daily posts from the many compassionate and committed animal advocates that frequent this site, has gradually made me realize that the views that I have always held but shyly kept to myself are much more prevalent than I had ever realized. Animal Advocates supporters are appalled at the casual mistreatment of animals by humans, and are battling daily to improve their lives. One rescue at a time, you are succeeding.

Now, three years later and with three beautiful adopted AAS dogs in tow, I have come to realize that this where my heart resides. Through your posts and through your stories, I feel I know many of you. And as was written by several of you around Christmas day, it is an honour to consider myself a small part of this community.
