Teja's Animal Refuge: This is what a livestock rescue facility should look like *LINK* *PIC*

Too many so-called animal welfare and rescue societies keep livestock in stalls or in little, muddy corrals where the animals' feet rot and where they mentally and physically sicken and decline.

Big Jim affectionately known as Cricket was sold at the age of 32 after years of barrel racing, to a therapeutic riding school. His now U-shaped back could no longer allow him to do his job. He was transported to Teja's in the middle of a blizzard one November day, three years ago. He is the most gentle horse I have ever known. Cricket and little Clyde have become great buddies, grazing and enjoying life at Teja's.
