This is recreation for them. They bring their children up to love hunting

Mr. Greico,

I applaud your actions and attempts to try to change the views of people who have no respect for wildlife and just have a love of killing. It amazes me that when I have discussions with hunters their answers always seem to fall along the lines of "Well we have to kill the deer, moose, elk, bears, wolves, because there are too many of them. If we didn't manage the forests they would take over." At this point I shake my head because these people truly believe they are HELPING. I'm still having a debate in my mind whether or not compassion can be taught or if it is just something that is within some of our souls and for others they don't carry that in their hearts. These hunters can absolutely justify EVERYTHING they do and it's like beating your heat up against a brick wall.

I have absolutely no problems with a family going out and killing a deer (just what is needed) to feed their family for the winter. At least that animal has had a better life than a cow in a feedlot. However, as I'm a vegetarian my ultimate dream would be no killing of animals but I know that is an impossible dream. But I know, as well as these people know, that they're not getting food for the family they are out for the kill, especially with wolves. This is recreation for them. They bring their children up to love hunting instead of respecting life and just enjoying the beauty of these animals in the wild.

As far as the wolf skull, this proves their mentality. They do not have the intelligence to have meaningful discussions, they just want to kill something and probably think this is funny. I have absolutely no respect for someone that would do that and I personally think they're a bunch of backwood hicks and they have no idea how to associate with human beings (probably why they have to live in the bush).

If I can do anything to assist you in your battle please do not hesitate to ask. I've recently moved to the Cariboo, as I love the countryside and ALL the wildlife, and know full well what this mentality is like and would like to make some differences myself.

Neither letter actually produced evidence that the wolf skull was placed there by a trapper
It would be preferable if he would respond with words, rather than with something dead
Thanks for speaking up for the wolves Mike!
Harvest-Sugar coated word for cull
Wolf Mission Sanctuary experience makes me sad that a wolf's skull used as a message of disrespect *LINK*
I would suggest to Mike that he carry that wolf-skull with him to every meeting
