Thanks for speaking up for the wolves Mike!
In Response To: Yukon Wolves ()

I hope that this wolf-skull 'gift' story receives the national and international recognition as a news story that it deserves. This twisted joke/subtle threat gives some good insight into the twisted psyches of some of our modern day 'stewards of the land' (one of my grandfathers, a native northerner, trapped for much of his life and the 'cruel trade' of trapping should have faded out when he and his fellow trappers from earlier days passed on).

Other than the letters about this incident published in the Whitehorse Star, there has so far been no local news interest. One of our local defenders of all things exploiting animals (this man is also a public apologist for the Yukon Territory's shameful dog mushing industry) wrote a letter in the Friday, January 25th Star that this may have been some sort of publicity stunt by animal rights activists. I can tell you that I will personally vouch that the recipient of this wolf skull would never stoop to such a publicity stunt.

I am also glad that this wolf's skull is now in his safe loving hands, instead of being on a shelf in the trophy room of the local animal exploiter who killed this animal.

Yukon Wolves
This is recreation for them. They bring their children up to love hunting
Neither letter actually produced evidence that the wolf skull was placed there by a trapper
It would be preferable if he would respond with words, rather than with something dead
Thanks for speaking up for the wolves Mike!
Harvest-Sugar coated word for cull
Wolf Mission Sanctuary experience makes me sad that a wolf's skull used as a message of disrespect *LINK*
I would suggest to Mike that he carry that wolf-skull with him to every meeting
