I certainly agree that it is unfair, entirely unfair, to judge Filipino-Canadians for supporting cockfighting. Cockfighting is an hideous pastime. It is a cruel atrocity. It is unconscionable. However, there are other cruel, unconscionable atrocities in Canada, condoned by the vast majority of Canadians of every ethnic background, that equal and, perhaps, surpass it.
Let's not be deceived. Eating meat, wearing leather, putting on fur, cleaning your home with other than environmentally congruent chemicals, flushing pharmaceuticals down the toilet, bullfighting, rodeos, circuses, aquaria, whaling, fish farms (aquaculture-duh), hunting, fishing, game farms, shooting fish in a barrel, frying a cat in the microwave, dragging a dog behind the car, chaining a dog in the back yard, killing an animal due to overcrowding, dumping your easter bunny in the nearest park, forcefeeding a goose, confining a bear for years in order to obtain gall bladder bile, swallowing gelatin coated medicines, shooting gophers for living where crops are growing, altering the environment for military purposes, culling wolves for eating caribou, sled-dog races, eating mussels, skinning dogs and cats and mink and fox and ermine alive, skinning them dead, drinking milk, eating ice cream and cheese, chopping down old growth forests for a buck or two.........

I would say, if you haven't done any of the above, you are entirely fit to judge Filipino-Canadians for supporting cockfighting. Otherwise, judge yourself and, if necessary, do something about yourself!
