Who said anything about killing the pets that are already here?
In Response To: Four questions ()

It never fails to astound me when a segment of the animal loving population accuses those of us who desire to end the use of animals for any purposes of our own, of wanting to kill or somehow remove, those animals who are already in our care.

I have four cats who I will care for, for as long as they live. I will provide as best I can for them, and yes, that does include feeding them meat (unfortunatly) as, unlike humans, cats are true carnivores.

Hopefully, I will also have the companionship of dogs in my care, as it seems there are no shortage of unwanted dogs and cats.

The difference, as I have explained so many times, is that I would never want an animal of any kind, to be bred for me - to wear, to eat, to accompany, or entertain me.

Some "rescue groups" and individuals still don't/won't grasp this concept as they continue to talk about responsible breeders. Personally, I do not think there is such a thing as a responsible breeder. We have no business breeding other species.

As long as there are breeders, "responsible" or not, the end result will be an abundance of "owned" animals, and an abundance of neglected/abused animals, and an abundance of animals who are rescued - perpetually continuing the cycle.

The constant question answered again: "So what would you do, set them all loose in the woods to fend for themselves?"
