I am grateful to AAS for having the courage to carry on prodding the BC SPCA towards positive change.

Judy Stone has never told me she wants the BC SPCA to fail. She has only talked about animal welfare, reform, accountability and honesty. In fact, she has told her colleagues in animal rescue and welfare over and over, and she has posted many times, that she wants the BC SPCA to thrive so that it can afford to do honest animal welfare.

I personally cannot understand why an organization like the BC SPCA is not trying to improve the standards of animal welfare within their branches and why the Society cannot just honestly dump their statistics and financial statements out into the public forum to be seen clearly and debated. But the Society doesn't appear willing to do so.

Because of the BC SPCA's unwillingness to be open, honest and accountable I myself must continue to be a critic. The main reasons for my criticism are:

1) the lack of spay/neuter within all branches ( no animal over 4 months should be adopted out unless it is altered prior to adoption). Proper follow-up of younger animals must also be done.
2) the lack of affordable community spay/neuter plans
3) the recycling of animals in the same condition in which they were surrendered....I continue this criticism in memory of Goldie....up until this date I have not received the response promised by the SPCA....

I could make the list longer but if the BC SPCA would only start doing what those of us in the trenches have been doing all along, I feel much of the criticism would stop and support for the BC SPCA would return.

Agreed!!
I have supported many SPCA staff and Volunteers...
I am always confident that the postings on the Animal Advocate’s message board are based on FACT, not rumor and innuendo
As a long-time SPCA volunteer I never received adequate responses to my questions about why dogs were killed
Thank you Animal Advocates Society
Thank you for having the courage to carry on. I stand behind you 100%
