Can or should the BC SPCA be saved? That's a very important question.
In my opinion, yes, the BC SPCA SHOULD be saved. Whether or not it CAN be saved without doing a major housecleaning first is doubtful. SHOULD it be saved without first cleaning out the self-serving and the deadwood? No. It must be forced, kicking and screaming it would appear, into the light of the twenty-first century, a century where animal welfare means truly sheltering, not disposing. But the BC SPCA must hurry to catch up, or it will be done for. It must drop the ponderous chains of animal disposal and race unfettered by corruption into the new, more enlightened age that is today's real animal welfare.
CAN the BC SPCA be saved? I don't know. That is up to the BC SPCA to decide.
