The guy was in his twenties, the dog was a CANE CORSO

Sooner than later Pitbulls are going to be the least of our problems. Last weekend I was at the Campbell Valley Fair in Langley. Dogs were allowed if leashed. I noticed a huge light fawn colored dog with a HUGE head, docked tail.I hadn't seen this type of dog with a docked tail. Makes me wonder why.I have heard that people are docking pitties tails that are used for fighting.

I was not familiar with the breed so I caught up to her and her owner. The guy was in his twenties, the dog was a CANE CORSO. The dog was thin from having a litter recently and he was planning on breeding her again as soon as she was able. These are a dangerous breed that has been imported from Italy. One of the parents of this dog was flown in from there. He sells the pups for $2500 each and has no shortage of people willing to pay that by the sounds of things. I asked if he screened potential owners and he seemed unsure of what I was talking about. I asked if he did home visits\interviewed the people to make sure the dogs went to good homes. "NO... NOT USUALLY." He told me that a lot of them are used as guard dogs. He took his time thinking about his answer so we can safely assume screening is not done...unless it is to make sure the cheque for $2500 will clear.
He recently had two dogs returned to him because the neighbours "didn't like the dogs." He was not asked to return the money. So these poor things will be resold to the highest bidder and are doomed to be guard dogs and live a hellish life because people want dangerous dogs. This is not a dog that could be stopped if it was to attack. These are LARGE dogs. If pitties are banned other breeds will be used, breeds fiercer than pitties.....and they are already here. We should all be scared if we aren't already.

Dr Moe Milstein: Will a ban on pit bulls solve our dangerous dog problem?
It's a Start - the SPCA has a policy of destroying alleged wolf-dog crosses because of the danger they pose. Why don't they have a similar policy on the fighting breeds?

Two-pronged legislation is needed
If you really love pit bulls.....
Re: If you really love pit bulls.....
I believe that you are attempting to make the "slippery slope" argument
What if..... *LINK*
Voluntary reductions in breeding have not worked
Perhaps of no surprise is that the mother of Shenica White is supportive of my effort for a ban on these breeds
I have a $700 vet bill that I am currently fighting a Golden Retriever's owner to help me pay
