I agree...I just don't see any reason at all for owning these powerful breeds. They are the ones who end up abused, or end up at shelters going through hell...and who is going to adopt them? If a civilized city is going to allow the breeding of dogs, breed dogs that get along with people, children and other animals. Those are the only kinds of dogs a civilized society should want. If a golden retriever ends up at a shelter there is a waiting list of terrific homes. When a pit bull ends up at a shelter (and shelters are full of them), there is no waiting list, and someone of, shall we say, questionable character, is often the only one who wants these pits, cane corsos etc. And I shiver to think what that dog's life is going to be like.
