Port Coquitlam councilor says only the "frenzied fringe" think drowning beavers is cruel *LINK*

I have had several conversations and correspondence with Port Coquitlam Mayor and Council. Unfortunately cruelty to animals is not a concern to them because Conibear traps are supposedly humane, and those who speak out against cruelty are just the “frenzied fringe”. (A Councilor actually said that.)

Conibear traps are also a danger to residents and children. Several children have been injured in these traps and it’s only a matter of time before someone in Port Coquitlam gets injured as well. Please email Mayor Scott Young at youngs@portcoquitlam.ca. Cc me as well mrogozinski@shaw.ca and tell him you oppose drowning beavers, and the use of Conibear traps.
