Would you put your pet kitten in a trap and drown it?

Port Coquitlam mayor and council, safely in their council chamber, are bravely ordering the beavers destroyed, but are afraid to view film footage of a beaver drowning while held in a trap.

What council is doing is pure animal cruelty in its worst form.

I can not imagine that supposedly educated people could even think of condoning such.

I would urge the Port Coquitlam mayor and council to think again and realize, that the beaver is no different from any other sensitive animal.

I hope not and if you did you have no right to live in this world.

Aside from all this, the beaver was here long before we came along and if we can not live in harmony with these animals, we have no right to invade their grounds, let alone kill them, as has been our custom with any creature that stood in our way throughout history.

Is it not time we move forward out of savagery and become civilized ??!!

And where is the SPCA ?
I am sure they are fully aware of what is going on with regard to these beavers.
The SPCA, if not able to step in directly, could at the very least make their voice heard in generally denouncing this atrocity.

SPCA means "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals".
If they can not get together with the Wildlife Society and force a stop to cruelty to wildlife, then I suggest the SPCA changes its name to "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to House Pets".
