Dear Terry,

Thank you very much for your comment regarding Animal Safety. The
Calgary Stampede takes all guest concerns very seriously. We are
passionate about the proper treatment of animals and continue to monitor
all events and activities that involve animals. Where necessary, changes
have been made to our events to protect competitors - both livestock and
human. We work closely with groups such as the Alberta SPCA and the
Calgary Humane Society to continually enhance our animal safety
measures. Each year we meet with both organizations to review and
improve animal care. The SPCA and Calgary Humane Society are on-site
monitoring the events throughout the 10 days of Stampede. The Stampede
has long been respected for its animal welfare practices which are in
keeping with those adhered to by the CPRA (Canadian Pro Rodeo
Association) and the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). We
respect and appreciate your views and thank you for relating them to us.
Your comments have been included in our daily report to Stampede Senior
Management.

Regards,

Michelle

If the Calgary Stampede is an example of prevention of cruelty to animals...
I hope I read a clear and unambiguous condemnation of animal sports and this rodeo in particular by both societies
