If the Calgary Stampede is an example of prevention of cruelty to animals...

The previous post says it all - "The Stampede works closely with the SPCA and the Calgary Humane Society".

If the Calgary Stampede is an example of prevention of cruelty to animals, and humane behaviour, then we are all victims of double-speak, where words have no meaning anymore.

It legitimizes the atrocities at the Stampede, to the general public, when so called "humane" organizations do not condemn this behavior.

It ranks right up there in getting women and children out hunting with the guys - as a recreational experience.

The family that kills together, stays together.

I hope I read a clear and unambiguous condemnation of animal sports and this rodeo in particular by both societies
