We can appeal to the public’s self-interest, and cause improvement that way
In Response To: Rabbit blown up on Halloween ()

While I agree with the disgust expressed at the complete narcissism of society, I think that the people who are interested in the welfare of animals, such as the ones who post on this website, are the already converted. They feel extreme empathy for the rabbit and disgust for the perpetrators of this barbaric act. Perhaps, in emphasizing the ultimate effect on humans of this kind of violence, we can appeal to the public’s self-interest, and cause improvement that way. Much like the man who gives to charity but wants to be sure that everyone sees him do it, the reasons would be wrong, but the ultimate result might be good anyway.
