Some animals are worth saving and some aren't and can be eaten.... for money

I am aware that there are some people in the rescue network who think that the SPCA is being unfairly targeted for using meat at their fund-raisers for animals.

I find it beyond sad that animals (usually factory farmed ones at that) are killed and served at these fund-raisers to make money for the rescue group's animals of choice. That says to me that the people doing the fund-raising have no problem deciding which animals are worth saving, and which are not worth saving and so can be eaten, not for sustenance, but for money.

I realize that the Hot Dog benefit is being organized for the SPCA by the Parksville Oceanside Chevrolet. I am sure the folks at the auto company have the best of intentions, but wouldn't it have been fabulous if the SPCA manager could have thanked them, and asked them to please serve ONLY veggie dogs - for the animals.

The SPCA takes pride in thinking that they are in the forefront of animal welfare. Then let's hold them to that, and insist that their behaviour be above reproach, and always in the interest of the animals.

Let's see... how many different farmed animals suffered for the SPCA's money-maker?
SPCA - Take a stand dammit! Stop selling meat made of suffering factory farmed animals!

Selling factory farmed animal meat is the SPCA's idea of farm animal welfare?
