BOUNCIN JACK
Dog
Labrador Retriever

Size: Large
Age: Young
Sex: Male
ID: 31590

Notes: Jack is a beautiful dog, he is your typical lab HAPPY WITH LIFE, we like to call him bouncin Jack he is so full of fun and happy to see everyone he meets. He does however have to learn how to control his over excitable behaviour so training is a must.. This is not Jack's fault as he unfortunately has lived mostly outside on a chain. He is only 8 months old so this has been very hard on him being a puppy and not having alot of time spent with him. He will need a home were someone will take him to training and housetrain him and spend time with him. He would do well with someone who is very active and would make a great jogging partner. This fella is very ,very sweet and is going to make a great companion for some lucky person and Jack is looking forward to his new beginning.

This pet is: up to date with routine shots, altered

Almost full marks - an acknowledgment that a dog suffers from isolation; that it can be rehabilitated; it is neutered (we think probably by the SPCA).

Marks off - there is no offer to help with the training and nothing that says that chaining is not the only form of cruelty; nothing that says anywhere that the SPCA does not permit its dogs to spend hours a day or night outside, alone, desocializing, becoming a public nuisance; nothing that says a dog house is no home it is a place of banishment. (In some parts of BC, even, we are sad to report, where the President of the BC SPCA lives, the SPCA ironically offers dog houses as prizes to raise funds for animal welfare.)

It's disappointing that the SPCA has to be taught by its critics that isolation of animals is unacceptable, but if the result is that the SPCA stops selling dogs that are then put on chains (as we know it did and may still do), then the battle to educate the BC SPCA is worth whatever it takes.

I have never met a dog who likes his or her dog house
