In Victoria, the pound, the police, and Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders are partnering to do real animal welfare: Logan the bunny *LINK* *PIC*

Victoria police took Logan away from teenagers who were pulling him through a mall by string. He was taken to the CRD pound. A representative from the Animal Crusaders saw him and knew immediately he needed help. A trip to the vets office found that Logan has pneumonia. He is about 3 weeks old and should still be feeding from his mother. He probably hadn't eaten properly for some time as he was not producing any pills (rabbit poops). Logan was named after the largest mountain in Canada because sometimes life can seem to be so overwhelming that it is insurmountable. Little Logan is a fighter though. After 3 days in foster care he is gobbling up his milk replacer, eating veggies, hay and pellets. All systems seem to be in good working order. Logan is not out of the woods yet, but he is on antibiotics and seems to have a will to live much larger than his 220 grams!! Logan is just one of the many dozens of animals helped by the Animal Crusaders each year. Please consider helping with Logan's medical expenses by donating to the Crusaders (address below)

Remember..do not let any one take a baby animal from it's mother!

Rescued cat killed by the SPCA raises questions of secrecy and lack of care
Sometimes only a bit of help gives a cat a new lease on life
Simple policy changes could have prevented this
I have sat on the sidelines and watched the SPCA for more years than I can name

The Ministry of Environment decided from the start that they would not want to release Helena
What is most disturbing is the SPCA's lack of explanation and communication
