I have been informed by a Nanaimo Special Constable that the Nanimo SPCA supports fully women in abusive situations, as AAS has said before. They will care for and take in their animals\provide vet care and cover that cost if needed. There is no time limit and if the woman can afford to give a donation that would be appreciated. If they can not afford it they take the animal regardless. The Nanimio SPCA has taken in an animal that stayed with them for 6 months\with no charge to the owner.
