From the PETA site http://www.peta.org/feat/annual_review04/notToAbuse.asp "Animals Are Not Ors To Abuse In Any Way"
PETA's just been caught among the ranks of people and organizations who admit to falsely obtaining possession of cats and dogs with the sole intention of killing them.
Well, PETA might be a wee bit unusual in that it admitted that this is exactly what they set out to do, and what they did.
What was that trial all about? Falsely obtaining "property" (dogs and cats), killing them immediately,
transporting and using illegal drugs - and they get charged with - littering.
The lives of the dogs and cats are of "no value" - to quote PETA's own lawyer, and I guess the jury agreed with him.
I guess the over 14,000 murdered animals that we know about were of no value either, and PETA did a merciful kindness in putting them out of their suffering.
I suppose PETA will carry on with their killing, since they seem to think it's the right thing to do, and the trial has just confirmed this for them.
But now that this face of PETA has been exposed (although how widely?) will they still be able to carry on?
They've done so much good work in the animal rights movement that I am floored, gob-smacked and dumbstruck.
What a crazy world this is where PETA walks away with a fine for littering, after killing animals because they chose to do so, yet is more likely, I think, to be targeted, perhaps legally, for some of their excellent anti - vivisection, rodeo, circus, and public awareness campaigns.
