Please give this dog the compassion he deserves! (Star, July 23).

Trevor the dog deserves another chance in life with a responsible person; he is the victim of neglectful ownership.
You all now know that Mr. Matthew Allaby is not the official person whom signed the adoption contract for for Trevor. He should have been returned to the humane society, not dumped off at the pound. Why are you ignoring this fact?

You say Trevor is a "dangerous" dog and yet you all know that it is not illegal to have aggressive dogs because people train dogs for gaurd and protection all the time. So why the double standard? It's only okay to have an aggressive dog if the owner is in control of the dog, right? So who is at fault here, Trevor or Matthew Allaby? Why should Trevor pay the price?

Why on earth would you not allow responsibl people to adopt Trevor? Why not?

Trevor (and many other dogs picked up by bylaw) is the victim here. Bylaw (to my knowledge) has never addressed the root of the problem why this ongoing neglect of dogs (and cats) continues to happen on such a large scale. Why not?

Humans are the cause of so much neglect/abuse that goes on, and yet the animals continue to pay the price.

Killing Trevor (and many others) will not get to the core of the problem. Please give him the compassion he deserves.

Let Trevor live!

Thank you

Mike Grieco
