How it is in the best welfare of the animals to be killed and eaten at their fundraisers?

The BCSPCA once again states that it is "an animal welfare organization, not an animal rights organization."

So can they explain how it is in the best welfare of the animals to be killed and eaten at their fundraisers?

I have never understood how an organization can say that it is an animal welfare organization, but not an animal rights group. How is it possible to have someone's welfare as your mandate, but not their rights? The two go hand in hand.

Good for Sarah Kramer for offering her time and expertise to help produce vegan fund - raising meals for the SPCA. It is the SPCA's loss if Sarah leaves because the SPCA chooses to keep eating animals and their by-products.
