Animal Advocates Watchdog

Accepting donations from meat eaters not the same as obtaining money by serving cooked animals.

Not all of Animal Advocate's members are vegans or vegetarians. Whether or not a person eats meat or other animal products remains an individual choice.

Some of us do promote veganism or vegetarianism however, and feel passionately about it.

Many of us feel strongly that it is wrong to eat meat at a fund-raiser "for the animals." It seems to me to be completely inconsistent to slaughter animals to raise money for say, "companion animals." If life is precious, shouldn't it be precious to all?

However, given that it still is an individual's choice to eat what they wish, if they or their company would like to donate money to Animal Advocates, the donations are graciously received. Perhaps the donor(s) may give some thought to their eating practices. If we were only willing to accept donations from vegans, it would be the animals who would suffer.

That said, we must hold firm when having our own fund-raisers, and harm no animals in the process. It will not hurt even the staunchest carnivore to have a meat free meal "for the animals."
