Thought that I should update the board. The owner was notified that the pitbull was put down (it was under one year) and the owner of it expressed deep concern and regret reassuring that the dog was not raised to be aggressive. He also agreed to pay the vet bills over a 2 payday period ($1300). So it appears that the best possible outcome was achieved.

The owner has been put on sleeping pills since her Ellie was attacked and put down, and yet she continues to wake up every morning at 3 am. She is such a sweet woman, this whole incident should never have happened.
