Excerpts from letters from AAS to Ms Gourkow of May 1st and 2nd, 2003
Dear Ms Gourkow,
We have told that there is concern by some SPCA volunteers that CAMP permits the SPCA to euthanize a dog if it fails one of the test steps. Can you please tell us if that is true?
Could you please tell us who has the final authority to decide if a dog is euthanized or not?
We understand from your statements quoted in an article in the Vancouver Courier (September 15/02) that all four CAMP phases will be implemented by this Spring. Would you be so kind as to send us a copy of all four CAMP phases?
If there has been a delay in implementing all phases, would you be so kind as to send us the CAMP phases that have been implemented?
Can you please tell us if the Hetts test is still the test in use by CAMP?
CAMP now includes colour zones and the proviso that orange zone dogs can be euthanized to make space for green zone dogs. Euthanizing for space is not mentioned in the March 2002 CAMP (announced in a July 2/02 BC SPCA press release), nor in the Courier article.
