Please write Kim Capri, the Chief Operating Officer of the BC SPCA who is responsible for the actions of all branches and their employees. Tell her that you want her to stop all the killing of dogs that are not dangerous and which people are begging to adopt or foster. Tell her specifically that you hope and expect her to instruct her staff to stop killing the Kamloops puppy mill dogs. kcapri@spca.bc.ca

Tell her that although she and her staff have proven again that they have no idea how dogs like these can be rehabilitated, that there are hundreds of women who have done it many times and have offered to take "difficult" dogs rather than have the SPCA kill them.

Tell Ms Capri that you are not fooled by CAMP, the SPCA's assessment test, which seems to have trained certain employees to find "scientific" but unprovable reasons to kill, like "organic brain disorder".

Women like Jennifer Dickson of the Okanagan Animal Welfare Foundation have rehabilitated puppy mill dogs in much worse condition, both physically and mentally. It was Jennifer who took the "leap of faith" and told Craig Daniell, the BC SPCA's Manager of Cruelty Investigations, where all the puppy mills in the Okanagan are, because, as Mr Daniell told her, the SPCA branches had no records of puppy mills. Yes - that is right - no records of fifty years of puppy mills being reported to them. It is because Jennifer gave Mr Daniell her information on this puppy mill that these dogs were surrendered.

At great personal risk Jennifer investigated many of them and AAS put them on its web site and gave the information to Daniell because she decided to trust the "new" SPCA. Trusting the "new" SPCA has turned out to be just as foolish as trusting the "old" SPCA.

Jennifer just recently sent Capri a letter offering her assistance with the rehabilitation of any seized or surrendered puppy mill dogs. She has not ever received a reply, not even an acknowledgement. Once again, the SPCA preferred to kill dogs than to let any other group save them.

And AAS told Ms Capri five months ago that she must stop her staff from killing dogs that can be saved if she was ever to clean up the SPCA's dirty name.
