Good for you Connie. You have only stated verifiable fact and you have formed an opinion based on those facts, which is known in law as fair comment, so you are legally safe (in our opinion).

The only way that animals will finally get real protection from cruelty in BC is if the SPCA is forced to do it. Connie, and others like her are why the SPCA now has no choice but to reform. The process can easily stall at the level of self-serving, personal agendas, power struggles, and egos, but not if all those who have information that can be used to hold the SPCA's feet to the fire, make their information public. For fifty years the SPCA has been protected from scrutiny by people who believed they would be prevented from helping animals in SPCAs if they spoke out about what they knew.

Keeping silent about wrong can never be right, and for fifty years the animals paid the price. Now there is a safe forum to say what is known about ruthless, self-serving SPCAs and ruthless, self-serving policies, and yes, ruthless, self-serving employees and management.

Legal intimidation is a well-used tactic of the BC SPCA: AAS is just one of the organizations and individuals the SPCA has used its donator's money to try to frighten into silence. http://www.animaladvocates.com/libelthreat.htm.
