Spurious argument number three against breed specific controls: Ban the deed, not the breed
Ban the deed, not the breed is a despicable argument in addition to being illogical. This argues that no dog ought to be controlled until after it has attacked someone. In other words, until there is blood and a mangled body.
This argument is so ruthless that I have to ask, How many breed defenders have children?
There are many dangers in life, but most of them are inescapable. Not so with dangerous breeds of dogs. No one has an inherent right to own a dog of any breed. It is a privilege, and the privilege of owing the most deadly breeds of dogs needs to be revoked.
