The day Cheech was saved was the day someone I know adopted a dog who had been returned to the SPCA because it had bitten two people in the few days it was in it's new home. This SPCA didn't have a problem adopting out the dog again. The dog is small and still quite young. I personally don't have a problem with it as the new adopter was advised, has experience with a "biter" and is willing to work with those issues. Why the difference from one SPCA to another?.....just another example of inconsistencies from one manager to another....how awful for the dogs....You die if you end up in a shelter who has a manager who doesn't understand dog behaviour and IMHO, has a bad day and takes her frustrations out on a dog.
Unfortunately, IMO, I don't think Cheech will ever be safe unless he permanently disapears and his name is changed. We need a "witness protection program" for animals......relocation, new name and a new start in life where none of your past follows you.
