AAS was contacted by several people with inside knowledge of this SPCA seizure
In Response To: A letter from Carolyn Pinsent ()

AAS was contacted by several people with inside knowledge of this SPCA seizure. We were told that the SPCA had been complained to of the starvation for quite a long time and that it ignored it. We were directed to the Chilliwack RCMP who filled us in and confirmed what we had been told.

So when SPCA officer, Eileen Drever, told the media that she "just happened to stumble on this situation by chance", she was not telling the truth.

Drever took Global TV with her when she made her raid. This is standard practice by the SPCA when enforcing the law and is not legal. Worse - she gave Global the SPCA's video of the cows, which it aired. The video was made as evidence in a cruelty prevention investigation and should only have been seen by Crown.

Doing this almost ruined the case against the cow's owner. The defence lawyer argued that the defendant's right to a fair trial had been infringed. Drever said that she was inexperienced and didn't know. The judge believed her and the evidence was accepted by the court even though Drever had been working for the SPCA for about 20 years and had done numerous investigations.

We have all the newspaper clippings and the transcript of the trial. And of course, it will be part of the mountain of evidence we have that the SPCA is not honest, if the SPCA forces us to defend ourselves in the defamation suit it has started against AAS in Supreme Court.
