The SPCA has lost sight of its mandate, and regrettably, the animals are the big losers. Instead of being the voice for change, through questionable actions and financial ineptitude they have nobody to blame but themselves for their tarnished reputation.

It is apparent that the majority of citizens in our society care very strongly about animal welfare, and feel betrayed by the SPCA's lack of response and initiatives in addressing the issues of cruelty, "backyard" breeders, chained dogs, caged pets, exotic animals, feral cats, spay/neuter programs etc.

Instead of spending the money donated by the public on a lawsuit, why not aggressively tackle these issues?

Animal welfare, advocacy, and reform is a social movement, one that's not about to disappear

I believe that the answer to your question is "because they can"
